After all was said and done it did come down to turnovers, although the turnover differential was zero it was Ryan Kerrigan pick six on the quick out to Nicks that gave the Redskins the lead that that didn’t surrender for the duration of the game. The Giants defense stepped up to stop the Redskins and give the offense a chance to tie the game but an ill timed helmet to helmet hit by Antrel Rolle on third down when the player had already been ruled down turned a punt into a 15 yard gain, which the Redskins used to put up the games final points.

Game Balls

Eli Manning-he was without third down TE Travis Beckum and if we remove dropped passes he completed close to 65% of his passes, while being harassed by the Redskins D-Line all game. It also could be easily argued that since RT Kareem McKenzies chip on Ryan Kerrigan wasn’t enough to keep his hands down that it wasn’t completely Elis fault.

Rex Grosman-21/34 for 305 yards and 2 TDs shredded the injured Giants secondary and look like a QB that once started a Super Bowl.

Young TEs-Jake Ballard at nearly 300 pounds was able to show some pass catching skills catching 2 balls for 59 yards, but he stood in the shadow of Fred Davis 5 catches for 105 yards he showed great speed and the awareness to find the holes in the defenses zones.

Ryan Kerrigan-for the pick 6 and his constant pressure on Eli Manning.

Jason Pierre-Paul-seems like he can’t help but pick up a pair of sacks when he steps on the field now. He had a great swim move for a sack and a bull rush later for a strip sack. With every game you see why with 2 pro bowlers and an up and coming star at DE the Giants still spent the 16th overall pick on him.

Greg Jones- 4 days ago Jones was third on the depth chart and as a 6th round pick who due to the lock out missed almost all of training camp performed admirably as a starting MLB. He made to impact plays on the Redskins opening drive and even though he gave up containment on Tim Hightowers TD run, he showed get instincts and awareness. Given more reps with the starters this week and a little more time he may prove to be the steal of the draft.
